Polls: Massive Voter Turnout In Bauchi Gov’s LGA

As the governorship and State Assembly elections get underway on Saturday, there was a massive turnout of voters in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi State.

The incumbent State governor, Bala Mohammed, hails from Alkaleri local government area, and he is seeking reelection for a second term in office.

Checks by LEADERSHIP in Alkaleri town shows that voters came out as early as 7am to book their space on the queue.

Speaking, chairman of Alkaleri local government area, Bala Mahmoud, said in all the locations he visited, the turnout was impressive, noting that elections in the area have been peaceful.

“I commend INEC for proper functioning of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS). So far, we don’t have a single case of malfunctioning of the device,” he stated.
