Security operatives in Anambra State have arrested three kidnappers suspected to be members of the outlawed Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) groups and rescued one of their victims.
They were arrested by the Forward Operating Base (FOB) while on stop and search duty at Afor Nnobi Road Junction, Aguata around 7.50pm.
The suspects were intercepted with two AK-47 with 150 live ammunition, fake police and army uniforms, two cell phones, two bulletproof vests, two walkie-talkies, one black Prado Jeep with registration number GWA 696 CM ABJ, one Ash Lexus 350 with registration number EKY 605 GV LAG, and others.

According to the State Commissioner for Police, Echeng Echeng, the suspects refused to stop when police on duty flagged them down but instead, they started shooting sporadically to escape police screening.
He also disclosed that the suspects mentioned the various camps/criminal hideouts where they operate.
The arrested hoodlums are Chinonso Offor, a native of Enugu State resident in Ekwulọbịa; Hycent Ugwuike, a native of Nsukka resident in Onitsha; and Samuel Sunday from Akwa-Ibom but resident in Isuochi, Abịa State.
Meanwhile, the command has paraded one 26-year-old youth corps member, Emeh Nnamdi Daniel, who is serving in the police command.
He was declared wanted by the command on 20th February 2023 on allegations of unlawful possession of firearms, money laundering, defamation of character, fraud and impersonation.
“We also want to use this opportunity to let you know the suspect is in custody. The suspect, Nnamdi Emeh, fled the country to the Benin Republic before he was arrested by ‘INTERPOL’ operatives.
He alleged that the suspect also hacked into one of Mr Chibuike Martins Ekwueme’s accounts and fraudulently transferred a total sum of N47 million into 14 different accounts owned by him Nnamdi E. “The case is already before a federal high court,” he stated.
