Ship Owners Applaud Reforms In NIMASA

The Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for the Agency’s reforms, saying the reforms have continued to strengthen the maritime sector.

Osagie Edward, Deputy Director/Head, Public Relations, NIMASA disclosed in a statement made available to journalists.

He said the SOAN President, Mr. Sonny Eja, who declared this when he led SOAN executive members on a working visit to NIMASA, further reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to partnering the Agency for the development of the maritime industry especially in the area of fleet expansion.

While welcoming the delegation, the NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared capacity development noting that these are essential for industry growth.

The visit brought together NIMASA Management and the SOAN Executives highlighting a shared commitment to deeper collaboration and capacity building across Nigeria’s maritime industry.
