During his visit, the governor appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria to urgently intervene by providing modern firefighting equipment, including air support and other essential tools, to help contain such incidents and prevent future outbreaks.

He explained that the intervention would strengthen the operational capacity of fire services and enhance emergency response in major commercial centres across the state, particularly in markets like Singer Market.

Governor Yusuf also praised the commitment of the Kano State Fire Service and other security agencies for their efforts in battling the blaze.

He further urged traders and residents in the area to remain calm and cooperate fully with emergency responders as work continues to bring the situation under control and assess the extent of the damage.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire and explore long-term measures to safeguard traders’ livelihoods and protect public infrastructure in the market.
