South-Africa: Add these three famous streets in Cape Town to your itinerary

Cape Town offers the best of both worlds: stunning natural scenery, from beaches to forests, and a vibrant, beckoning city life.

Whether you’re a local or planning a trip, it shouldn’t be without a visit to a few of the Mother City’s iconic streets.

Here are three of the most famous streets in Cape Town to pin on your map.

Bree Street

Did you know Bree Street is ranked as the 11th “Coolest Street” by Time Out? It’s renowned for its rich assortment of restaurants, bars, bakeries, boutiques, art galleries, and shops. You can walk here during the day with your family, enjoy a coffee, or experience its widely-praised nightlife with friends.

If you’re looking to extend your walk, you can also hop over to Loop and Long Street. Both streets are parallel to each other and offer trendy vibes.

Kloof Street

Often described as having a contemporary vibe, Kloof Street offers a diverse range of dining options. Additionally, visitors can appreciate the old Victorian-style houses here too, which offer a mix of history and modernity.

Wale Street (Bo-Kaap)

Also close to the city centre, located above it, is Bo-Kaap. It is a must-visit if you want to experience the history of Cape Town. The suburb is iconic for its colourful houses. They were reportedly painted after slavery, when the freed slaves were allowed to buy their homes.
