A report from 90min claims the English giants might lose two high-profile midfielders once the 2022/23 concludes, two players who have been important to Guardiola’s success in England.

German playmaker Ilkay Gundogan, who scored both goals in City’s 2-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League this past weekend, will see his current deal expire in June and is said to be open to joining Barcelona.

It is suggested that the experienced midfielder has already agreed personal terms with the Catalan giants, who are reportedly hoping to land the 32-year-old as a free agent.

Barcelona’s well-documented financial issues mean spending money in the coming transfer window will be difficult, making it likely they will target players who will soon be contract-free.

According to Le10 Sport, meanwhile, Portugal international Bernardo Silva is being closely monitored by Paris Saint-Germain as they look to rebuild their ageing squad.

Silva, 28, has been linked with a move away from the Citizens on a number of occasions in recent seasons, with Guardiola having previously stated he would not keep players against their will.
