Suspected Killers Of Retired Delta State Judge Arrested

The Delta State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in the investigation into the killing of retired Justice Ifeoma Okogwu in Anambra State, confirming the arrest of two key suspects.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that the arrests were made by operatives of the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) acting on credible intelligence.

On December 6, 2025, the police arrested Godwin Mngumi, a 25-year-old security guard at the deceased’s residence, who allegedly murdered the retired judge. The mobile phone of the late Justice Okogwu was also recovered from him.

The security guard, Godwin Mngumi, confessed to the crime, stating that he invited a friend, Nnaji Obalum, and a third accomplice (currently at large) to the residence to carry out the murder.

Following the confession, Nnaji Obalum was also promptly arrested by the police.

The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt to apprehend the third suspect involved in the heinous act.

The arrests mark a significant development in securing justice for the retired judge and her family.
