Tacha made a bold move toward the record books by completing an impressive 145 makeovers in 24 hours during her Guinness World Record attempt. Although she originally aimed for 150, she still achieved a remarkable milestone.
The marathon beauty session unfolded at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos, drawing a crowd of supporters, fans, and notable figures, including media personality Toke Makinwa, Ebuka, rapper Ice Prince, BBNaija alumna Alex Unusual, Wanni x Handi, Ebuka, Soma, Dabota, Venita, Ike, Kim Oprah, Liquorose, Cross d boss, Hilda baci, Veekee James, Osas Ighodaro, Lagos State’s Special Adviser on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, and many more.
Before Tacha’s attempt, the official Guinness World Record for most cosmetic makeovers by one artist in 24 hours was held by Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone, with 111 makeovers on 30 April 2024 in Freetown.
Despite facing unexpected setbacks, including a power outage during the grueling 24-hour challenge. Tacha pushed through with speed and precision. Working tirelessly, she transformed a diverse group of 145 models representing various skin tones and body types, highlighting inclusivity and the artistry of Nigerian beauty.
Each makeover was meticulously documented with professional headshots and runway showcases, forming the highlight of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which ran alongside the record attempt.
The former Big Brother Naija Season 4 contestant, who has evolved into a powerhouse entrepreneur, said her mission was bigger than just numbers. “I wanted to showcase the creativity, consistency, and power of Nigerian women in the beauty industry,” she shared ahead of the event. “Nigeria was the only place this could happen.”
While she awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records, the feat has already stirred excitement across social media and the beauty industry, with many praising her resilience and ambition.
