Taraba Govt threatens to sack sanitation workers over failure to register with APC

Taraba State Government has threatened to sack workers of the Taraba State Environmental Sanitation Agency (TSESA) who fail to provide evidence of registration in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise.

Findings revealed that workers of the agency have been directed to present proof of their APC e-registration using their National Identity Number (NIN) or risk facing sanctions.

The Chairman of the Taraba State Environmental and Sanitation Agency, Hon. Illiya Kefa, confirmed the development in a telephone interview with journalists in Jalingo.

Kefa stated that no staff member of the agency would be spared if found wanting in the ongoing APC registration exercise.

According to him, any worker who fails to comply with the directive would face disciplinary action, including possible dismissal.

Meanwhile, a worker of the agency, who spoke to the media on condition of anonymity, accused the state government of compelling sanitation workers to participate in what he described as a compulsory APC registration or face sanctions.

The source alleged that staff members were being pressured to conduct the APC e-registration exercise against their will.

When contacted again for confirmation, Kefa reiterated the government’s position, warning that stiff penalties await defaulters.

“Yes, anyone who refuse to do the APC registration will not only face payment sanction but sack. I will sack anyone without APC membership card,” Hon. Kefa insisted.
