The JLW has unveiled his latest EP, Champion Mommy, a heartfelt musical tribute to his mother, blending love, gratitude and deep-rooted faith. The two-track project, now streaming on all major platforms, marks the third chapter in the singer’s growing discography.
Following his debut EP My Father, dedicated to his dad and the hit single Lagos Nights from his forthcoming Akadá; The Album, Champion Mommy shifts the spotlight to maternal sacrifice and spiritual guidance.
The title track sees The JLW pour out affection for his mother, celebrating her as his pillar of strength, counsel and encouragement. In a poignant moment, he recites a passage from Psalm 91, seamlessly weaving his faith with the protective love of a mother.
The second track, The Grace, featuring Flora Fasan, reflects on God’s faithfulness throughout his life’s journey; one that has kept him away from Lagos for over a decade. The song underscores the sufficiency of grace and the spiritual values his mother instilled from childhood.
More than music, Champion Mommy is a universal salute to mothers everywhere, honouring sacrifices often unnoticed. Produced by Akadá Music, the EP stands as a touching reminder to celebrate mothers and their enduring impact on society.
