There will be no safe place for criminals in Jigawa – Police Commissioner

The Jigawa State Police Command has declared a firm commitment to tackling crime, vowing that criminals will find no safe haven in the state.

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Haruna Alaba Yahaya, made this known on Tuesday during his maiden press briefing.

He stated that the command would adopt a tough stance against all forms of criminality while deploying modern policing strategies to enhance security across the state.

According to him, the police will intensify efforts to combat offences such as armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug trafficking, vandalism, and other serious crimes.

The commissioner also assured that the command is ready to work closely with other security agencies to ensure coordinated and effective responses to security challenges.

He urged officers and men of the command to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.

Yahaya noted that his goal is to build a secure, stable, and crime-resilient Jigawa State where residents can live and carry out their lawful activities without fear.

He further called on members of the public to support the police with timely information, stressing that community collaboration is key to achieving a crime-free society.
