Tinubu Appoints AVM Saddiq Kaita As Pro-Chancellor Of Bayero University

August 01, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano.

Kaita takes over from Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, who also serves as Chairman of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, explained that the change was made to enable Dr. Gawuna to focus fully on his role at the FHA.

Prior to his retirement from the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Kaita served as Director of Strategy at the Defence Headquarters and Chief of Defence Transformation and Innovation.

He is widely recognised for his contributions to training, strategic planning, and standardisation within the military.
