Tinubu Grants Automatic Employment To Late FCT HoS Children

ABUJA – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of Service (HoS) of the FCT Administration, Mrs. Grace Adayilo.

Wike disclosed this during the funeral of the late civil servant on Saturday in Abuja, where he delivered a tribute on behalf of the President and the FCT Administration.

“On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and on behalf of Mr. President, I want to say sorry, send our condolences to your families, to the children and extended family.

“Mr. President has directed me to give the four children automatic employment because he understands that now that there is no breadwinner, they must survive,” Wike declared.

The minister described Adayilo’s sudden death as painful and shocking, noting that she epitomised humility, loyalty, and dedication in her service to the FCT Administration.

“We all know that we will die one day. That is guaranteed. But, there are certain deaths, when they occur, pain.

“She was very strong, very humble, and very loyal. Even if I was away, once I directed her, within minutes, it was done.

“She did not joke with payment of salaries and other entitlements. She was also a good mother and a great mobiliser, who felt so much for her people,” Wike said.

Reflecting on his personal working relationship with the late HoS, the minister revealed that Adayilo’s diligence earned her his admiration’s trust.

“I wanted someone committed, someone loyal to the job, and she proved herself beyond my expectations. She was everything for her family, and she also related with everyone — big or small — with a smile,” he added.

Wike urged Nigerians to live purposefully, stressing that tomorrow is never guaranteed, adding, “Every opportunity you have, serve in the glory of God. Don’t say tomorrow is there; there may not be another tomorrow.”
