President Bola Tinubu has rolled out the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF), a groundbreaking initiative designed to provide financial relief to both academic and non-academic staff at Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
The program offers interest-free loans of up to 10 million naira, with a flexible repayment period of up to five years, including a one-year moratorium before repayments begin.
The application portal for the TISSF is now open and accessible at tissf.education.gov.ng.
The platform aims to streamline the application process, ensuring eligible staff can easily apply for and access the funds.
Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, hailed the initiative as a cornerstone of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He emphasized that the TISSF reflects the administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing education by supporting the welfare of those who drive it.
“This scheme is a testament to President Tinubu’s vision of empowering educators and staff to focus on delivering quality education without financial strain,” Alausa stated.
The TISSF is expected to alleviate financial burdens for staff, enabling them to invest in personal and professional development, housing, or other critical needs.
The initiative has been widely praised as a step toward improving the working conditions of tertiary institution employees, fostering a more robust educational sector in Nigeria.
Further details on eligibility criteria, application processes, and loan terms are available on the official TISSF portal.
The government encourages all eligible staff to take advantage of this opportunity to access financial support tailored to their needs.
