President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Dr. Grace Adayilo, former Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The announcement was made by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during Dr. Adayilo’s funeral service, where he conveyed the President’s directive. Wike explained that the decision was taken to ease the burden on the late civil servant’s family, as she had been the sole breadwinner.
“Mr. President has directed that the four children of the late Dr. Grace Adayilo be given automatic employment. Now there is no breadwinner for them, and the President has made this approval to ensure they are supported,” Wike said.
Dr. Adayilo, who passed away recently, was remembered as a dedicated and selfless leader in the FCT civil service. Her death drew widespread tributes from colleagues, family, and government officials.
While details of the employment — such as specific roles and departments — are yet to be made public, the announcement was met with applause from mourners at the service, many of whom described the gesture as a compassionate act by the President.
