Olufemi Oluyede and his counterpart in the Nigerian Navy, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla Philip Agbese, the deputy spokesperson of the House of Representatives, has dismissed the call on President Bola Tinubu to sack the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christopher Musa and other service chiefs, adding that Nigeria has made strategic and tangible gains in its campaign against terrorism, banditry and other security matters threatening stability in the country.
The federal lawmaker representing the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, explained that the military under CDS Musa’s leadership has reinvigorated the operation of counter-banditry and counter-terrorism while restoring the public trust.

Source: Facebook Agbese rejects call to sack service chiefs He described the recent calls to sack the service chiefs as a “propaganda warfare”, being sponsored by the network of terrorists with the objective of demoralising troops, as well as dissuading the public from the ongoing successes.
In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Thursday, September 11, the federal lawmaker called on Nigerians to resist the call because it was meant to weaken the fighting forces’ morale.
Agbese’s statement reads in part:
“The service chiefs have given us clear evidence that Nigeria can win this war. The terrorists and their enablers understand this, so they resort to psychological warfare. Their demand for a change of leadership is not for Nigeria’s benefit, it is a survival tactic for terror.” Agbese praises CDS Musa The lawmaker then praised CDS Musa for his coordination tactics in the joint military operations and commended the general’s ability to bring the different services together under a unified framework of counter-terrorism.
Agbese also described the hosting of the African Defence Chiefs’ Summit in Abuja in August as a landmark achievement that showed that the Chief of Defence Staff’s vision was beyond Nigeria but Africa as a whole.
He noted that the event, which was hosted under the leadership of General Musa, gave room for African militaries to come together and discuss the solutions to African problems.
The House of Reps leader also commended Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), adding that he was determined to fight oil theft to stand still, stop illegal refineries and other maritime crime.
Agbese also praised Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), adding that he was vocal with his leadership style on the field and has been able to turn around the troubled theatres’ operation.

Source: Twitter Data show Nigerian military’s performance in August Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigerian military authorities have disclosed data on troop operations across the country in the month of August 2024.
Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, the director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed the data while giving details of the force operations in the previous month.
According to Kangye, the armed forces arrested 85 suspects and rescued 66 kidnap victims in total, while several terrorists were killed in August.
