Source: Facebook Speaking to the press at Naisambu Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) in Kwanza, Masengeli said so far, a good number of armed criminal gangs have been brought to book, and more are being pursued.
“We will not allow anybody to form or engage in criminal acts. Everyone must be within the law. How DIG Masengeli warned criminal gangs in Trans Nzoia He further revealed that criminal investigative officers are pursuing financiers and sympathisers of the deadly criminal gangs.
The soft-spoken Administration Police boss called on members of the public to volunteer any credible information to law enforcement officers so that more suspects can be brought to book and charged in a court of law.
“I urge members of the public to cooperate with our officers so that we deal with this menace once and for all. Do not hide suspects because they are a threat to our security,” he pleaded with Trans Nzoia residents. Accompanying Masengeli, Kwanza Constituency Member of Parliament, Ferdinand Wanyonyi, said financiers of armed gangs should face the law.
How gangs have been terrorising Trans Nzoia residents The third-term lawmaker elected on the FORD Kenya party condemned political leaders advancing tribal and divisive politics.
“Trans Nzoia is a small Kenya; every tribe is here, and whoever tries to incite one community against another while arming his or her goons should not be condoned at all,” Wanyonyi said. In the recent past, crude weapons-wielding gangs have been robbing people’s homes and businesses.
The gangs are very emboldened, they have on several occasions stormed into the old and the current Trans Nzoia County Government offices.
Their acts have attracted the attention of the Ministry of Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, who vowed to deal with the gangs.

Source: Original Trans Nzoia business community led by Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry chair, Titus Kilong’i said the gangs are hurting the economy of Trans Nzoia and scaring both local and foreign investors.
What CS Murkomen said about insecurity in Trans Nzoia Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen had earlier also raised a red flag over the existence of goons and criminal gangs in Trans Nzoia county.
Murkomen said some of the goons were being financed by political leaders in the county.
Addressing the press at the Trans Nzoia county commissioner’s office in Kitale town on Monday, July 28, the CS said all the criminal gangs and hired goons in the county are already on the radar of security agencies.
