Arsenal will not consider making a move to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer, Football London reports.
The Gunners have already signed Isak’s compatriot Viktor Gyokeres this summer and committed to paying over £65million for him.
Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, considered the finances involved when he picked the lesser expensive No.9 on the market.
As it stands, Liverpool are leading the race to sign Isak. And their initial offer of £120million has been turned down.
If a deal for Isak is to be done, then it will have to rise to almost £150million.
At this point, with Gyokeres and Kai Havertz locked in for the new season, there is little or no chance of Arsenal hijacking the move.
Arsenal had several doubts about a deal for Isak. They believed Newcastle were extremely unlikely to let the 25-year-old leave, but they also questioned his fitness record.
