At least two people were killed and several others injured on Saturday after a multiple-vehicle crash on Kara Bridge, inward Mowe, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the accident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. and involved a loaded articulated truck that overturned and crashed into four other vehicles.
According to the agency, the truck fell on its side and collided with a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota RAV4 SUV with registration number LSR-618-HS (Lagos), and two loaded interstate Mazda buses with plates APP-835-XY and JJJ-538-YE, both registered in Lagos.
LASTMA officials, operating under the agency’s PAPA OSCAR response unit, were deployed to the scene to manage traffic and coordinate rescue efforts. Tow trucks were also mobilised to evacuate the wrecked vehicles and clear the road.

The agency confirmed that two fatalities were recorded at the scene, while several injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Recovery operations were still ongoing as of Saturday evening, with traffic congestion stretching back towards the Secretariat area and River Valley/Kosoko axis.
LASTMA advised motorists to avoid the Ojodu-Berger route or prepare for significant delays due to the backlog caused by the crash.
