Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was in action for Atalanta as they fell 2-3 to Athletic Bilbao in a Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
Lookman was making a return to the team after representing the Super Eagles at the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The forward bagged an assist for Atalanta’s second goal in the 88th minute, but it was not enough as the Spanish side hung on to win.
In Turkey, Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen was also in action for Galatasaray as they secured a 1-1 draw to keep their qualification for the next stage well alive.
Despite playing in an intimidating atmosphere where Atletico players were booed every time they touched the ball, the visitors took a fourth-minute lead.

It took an own goal from Atletico Madrid’s Marcos Llorente to hand Galatasaray a point from the encounter.
At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory over Pafos. Thanks to a lone goals by Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea likely need to beat Napoli away on the final day to finish in the top eight and avoid two play‑off matches in the 36‑team league phase.
Elsewhere, Barcelona thrashed Slavia Prague 4-2 in a thriller.
Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup earlier this month and are still on course for a quadruple as they are also top of La Liga and in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
For Liverpool, it was a 3-0 victory over French side Marseille. Newcastle United also thrashed PSV 3-0, Qarabag beat Frankfurt 3-2, while Bayern Munich defeated Union 2-0.
