April 13, (THEWILL) – Napoli coach, Luciano Spalletti, has confirmed that striker, Victor Osimhen, will be fit to play in their Champions League clash against Milan next week.
The Nigerian international missed Napoli’s quarter-final first-leg loss to Milan due to a groin injury. However, Spalletti has given assurances that Osimhen will feature in the second leg at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
“Victor Osimhen will 100 percent be available for the return leg at Maradona on Tuesday. He will be there,” Spalletti said. The striker has been crucial to Napoli’s success this season, leading the Serie A scoring charts with 21 goals.
Meanwhile, Spalletti will have to make changes to his starting lineup after midfielder, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, was sent off in the first leg. Defender, Kim Min-jae, will also be suspended following a late booking. However, the coach is confident that his squad will adapt to the situation.
“Any absence is damaging at this stage of the season, but we also have players who can fill in, which is why we are where we are. We trust the squad,” he said.
