March 31, (THEWILL) – Eintracht Frankfurt has been handed a €70,000 fine by UEFA and ordered to partially close their stadium for their next match in the competition.
This decision came after their supporters ignited fireworks and blocked passageways in a recent home defeat to Napoli. The European football governing body announced the decision on Thursday.

THEWILL recalls that in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 match, the Bundesliga club lost 2-0 at home before being eliminated 5-0 on aggregate in a chaotic return encounter in Naples, which involved fan clashes with police before the match.
Additionally, French club Nantes was also fined a total of €66,125 for fan-related misconduct, including lighting fireworks, throwing objects, offensive messages, and invading the pitch. The punishment also carries a suspended partial stadium closure for their next UEFA match.
