UFC: Adesanya Avenges Previous Loss To Pereira With Stunning Victory

April 09, (THEWILL) – Israel Adesanya, known as “The Last Stylebender”, has claimed the title of the world’s new undisputed UFC middleweight champion after defeating Alex Pereira in a thrilling fight early on Sunday morning.

Adesanya, who had lost to Pereira during UFC 281, managed to regain his title belt after a long-awaited rematch against the Brazilian fighter.

The two fighters have a history outside the UFC and have faced each other three times before. This victory marks the first time in four bouts that Adesanya has come out on top against Pereira. The main event of UFC 287 saw Adesanya become the aggressor from the outset, finishing round one in fine form.

Round two saw Pereira fight back with a few well-placed kicks, but Adesanya’s aggression and physicality proved too much for the Brazilian fighter. Adesanya’s decisive victory came in the form of a powerful right hook that knocked Pereira out.

He then rubbed salt in the wound by pretending to spear Pereira with three fictitious arrows, which he gushed about during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
