UN global body names Nigeria’s Tallen advocate for change

Nigeria’s team leader at the ongoing United Nations 67th session of the Convention on the Status of Women, (CSW) and minister of women affairs, Pauline Tallen, has been named the United Nations advocate for change by the Global Women Foundation Advocacy for Change and the Office of the Chief Ambassador, Donors.

Nigeria’s team leader at the ongoing United Nations 67th session of the Convention on the Status of Women, (CSW) and minister of women affairs, Pauline Tallen, has been named the United Nations advocate for change by the Global Women Foundation Advocacy for Change and the Office of the Chief Ambassador, Donors.

A statement signed by the Director of Press, federal ministry of women affairs, Olujimi Oyetomi, contains that Tallen received the recognition for her lifelong commitment to building a strong reach of service throughout the world.

The conferment on the side of the wings of the 67th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women holding in New York, USA from 6th to 17th March 2023.

”This special recognition by the global body adds to many that have been conferred on Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, and it is especially for her lifelong commitment to building a strong reach of service throughout the world.

“Dame Tallen has been severally noted and applauded not only by President Muhammadu Buhari, who appointed her to office as the Minister of Women Affairs but by her Cabinet Colleagues as well as several ranks of women,” the statement reads.

It also noted that the minister‘s commitment to impacting the lives of women at all levels was a major propeller of the award.
