November 17, (THEWILL) — Activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and comedian, Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, reportedly got into a physical fight aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos.
A video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows both men exchanging punches as other passengers attempted to separate them.
Shortly after the incident, VDM confirmed the clash in a post on Instagram, alleging that Mr Jollof bit him during the scuffle and insisting he acted in self-defence.
“Jollof would have kpai me if I didn’t defend myself, God saved me”, he said.
The two have a history of online feuds with VDM publicly accusing Mr Jollof’s wife of inappropriate relationships, including with Yahoo boys.
Mr Jollof fired back, accusing VDM of being a “product of a broken home.”
In response to the incident, Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, called for more information to assist with an official investigation.
He urged anyone with details regarding the airline and the date of the incident to come forward.
