Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has completed his move away from Bayer Leverkusen to join Werder Bremen.
The Nigerian was close to joining AC Milan but the deal was called off after he failed his medical with the Serie A giants. Victor Boniface confirmed that the deal could not materialise because of the ACL he had in his right knee in the past.
However, Victor Boniface has completed his move to fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on a loan deal. He is regarded as one of the most promising young strikers in the Bundesliga having scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists in 19 appearances for Leverkusen.
He joined the German side in the summer of 2023 from Belgian club Union St. Gilloise, signing a five-year deal. Boniface’s current contract with Bayer Leverkusen ends in the summer of 2028.
The 22-year-old has not been called up to the Nigeria squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches which will guve him time to focus on his future.
