Prof. Ibrahim Maqari paid a courtesy visit on Monday to Engr. Abduljaleel Adekunle Kareem MCIArb, MCIOB, MCABE, also known as Mogaji Adanla and CEO of AFIA Group.
The meeting took place at Adanla’s Palace , Chief Lateef Oyelade GRA, Ring Road, Ibadan.
Maqari , who is the Founder of Nigeria’s first female-only university, Tazkiyah University , Kaduna , and the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja , briefed Adanla on the progress of his new institution.
He informed him that the university officially commenced operations last week with an impressive number of students.
Prof. Maqari noted that student enrollment, totalling approximately 250, was beyond their expectations. He added that he personally sponsored 50 of these students.
In his remarks, Adanla , who also the Turaki Adinni of Oyo State, Wakil Faido Tijaniya of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, and Giwa Adinni of Offa Land, commended Prof. Maqari for his unwavering commitment to imparting knowledge and contributing to education in Nigeria.
Adanla stated: “It is a great pleasure to have my brother and Sheikh, Prof. Ibrahim Maqari , the lead Imam of Nigeria Central Mosque, Abuja and the owner of the first female-only University in Nigeria (TAZKIYAH University Kaduna) here today.
“I’m also glad that the university has officially taken off with 250 students.
“During the university’s planning stage, a lot of people told us it would not fly, but to Allah be the glory, it’s performing more than expected.
“I am very proud of you and will encourage people with great ideas like this to take the bold step.”
