Founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, has buried his mother, Mama Asetu, in a ceremony that has drawn reactions on social media.
Mama Asetu, who died in May 2025 at the age of 104, was laid to rest in December, several months after her death.
Videos from the burial ceremony, which started trending online on Sunday, showed the deceased interred in a gold-plated casket following a funeral service attended by family members, associates and sympathisers.
However, attention online has focused on the casket used for the burial, with many social media users commenting on its elaborate design.
Unverified reports circulating online claimed the gold-plated coffin cost over ₦100m, with some placing its value at about ₦150m.
The choice of casket has continued to generate mixed reactions, with discussions centred on the scale of the burial and the lavish nature of the final rites accorded to the late matriarch.
