‘We’ll defeat bandits and terrorists’ — Tinubu praises Ribadu

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that insecurity will be defeated, praising Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), for what he described as an excellent job in coordinating the fight against banditry and terrorism across the country.

Tinubu gave the assurance on Monday in Yola while inaugurating projects completed by the Adamawa State Government, Ribadu’s home state. His remarks drew applause from dignitaries at the event.

The president said he was proud of Ribadu and expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome terrorism and banditry under his leadership.

“I must say clearly here that you are doing an excellent job, and we have seen the results. With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists,” Tinubu said.

“You are a good National Security Adviser—honest, bold, courageous, and committed to the job. I believe the people of Adamawa State are proud of you, and so am I.”

Tinubu’s commendation of Ribadu comes amid recent allegations by Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State.

Last month, El-Rufai accused the Office of the National Security Adviser of procuring about 10 kilogrammes of thallium sulphate, a highly toxic, colourless, and odourless substance capable of causing death in small doses.

The Office of the National Security Adviser has not publicly responded in detail to the allegation.
