We’ve awarded over N200bn road projects in three years — Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has declared that his administration, in almost three years, has awarded road projects worth over 200 billion across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

The governor, who explained that his administration has invested in road infrastructure to connect communities and open up the state for development, said that the approval covered 350 kilometres.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, in a statement on Monday, dismissed the remarks of a governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kayode Ojo, accusing the administration of failing in road construction in the state.

He revealed that over N150 billion has been paid to contractors and that 126 kilometres have been completed, ” while the balance are at various stages of completion.”

“These roads were carefully selected to connect commercial hubs, large communities, as well as to provide alternatives to Federal roads that are either being repaired or awaiting reconstruction.

“The overhead bridge project referenced in Ado-Ekiti is ongoing, not stalled, and is being executed in line with the agreed project plan. As at today, the project is at over 60% completion, and will be completed in Q1 2026, which is on track with the expected delivery date.

“This is outside of the rural agriculture roads being constructed under RAAMP, where 132 kilometres of rural roads are being constructed,” he said.

On the allegations of the N90 billion bond, the governor’s aide described the assertion as malicious, challenging the aspirant to provide any form of evidence to support the allegations.

He noted that the administration of Governor Oyebanji has been acknowledged by local and international organisa
