What Peter Obi Said About The Train-BRT Bus Collision In Lagos

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has commiserated with the families of those involved in the tragic accident that occurred in Lagos State.Naija News earlier reported that a train collided with the Lagos State Government bus with six people reported dead and several others injured.

The injured victims were rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for medical attention while the corpse of the dead passengers was evacuated to the morgue.

In a statement on Thursday, Peter Obi said the loss of lives in such avoidable incidents is heartbreaking, stressing that the country must guard against such occurrences.

He urged the relevant agencies and authorities to live up to their responsibilities during the time and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured as well as the bereaved.

He said: “I received the depressing news of a train collision with a BRT Staff Bus in Ikeja today, where precious lives were lost and several people wounded. We must at all cost, guard against accidents like this.

“The many lives lost to such avoidable incidents are heart breaking. The relevant agencies and authorities must stand up to their responsibilities.

“I commiserate with the bereaved families and hope the critically injured are given good medical care for quick recovery. We are united with you in this time of sorrow and pain.

“May God keep us all safe as we go about our daily lives.”
