Bayern Munich’s director has revealed a shocking detail that prevents the German side from buying Nicholas Jackson from Chelsea on a permanent move.
Bayern Munich’s director, Uli Hoeneß, in a tell all interview on Sport1’s DOPA programme addressed questions on the 2025 summer transfer window of the German Bundesliga champions most especially responding to why the club might not sign Nicholas Jackson as his contract had initially mandated.
Uli Hoeneß revealed that the mandatory option to buy from Chelsea on Nicholas Jackson’s contract can only be triggered if the senegalese starts in 40 matches for Bayern Munich in the 2025/2026 season an action he believes can never happen given the fact that he plays the same role on the pitch as their forward, Harry Kane.
Uli Hoeneß also revealed that Jackson and his agent also paid out of the 15 million pounds loan fee imposed by Chelsea to facilitate the move.
Speaking on why his side didnt sign top players like Florian Writz and others Uli Hoeneß added, “We’re very satisfied at FC Bayern. We are the real winners of the summer transfer window. We have a strong team and didn’t need to strengthen it much. Of course, we would have liked to have Florian Wirtz, but we’d never have bought him for €150m. We offered €55 million for Nick Woltemade, while Stuttgart wanted €75 million. In the end he went to Nottingham [he meant Newcastle] for €90m. What Newcastle are doing has nothing to do with football. It’s like Monopoly these days. We must not forget that there’s still a transfer window in January. We would have enough money for that. We’re also getting 3 ‘new signings’ for free in November with Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Itō. There’s also the young players who have to play”
