William Saliba reportedly takes decision on future at Arsenal

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has reportedly agreed to a new five-year contract with the club which will see him remain at the club until 2030.

The France international has been instrumental in everything Arsenal have achieved in the past couple of years across all competitions. Saliba has played a key role in helping Arsenal maintain the strongest defensive record in the Premier League over the previous two seasons.

The 24-year-old, who has developed into one of the Premier League’s most dominant centre-backs under Mikel Arteta, is already tied to Arsenal until 2027 following the deal he signed in July 2023. Saliba played 51 games for Arsenal last term, as Mikel Arteta’s side finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive campaign and reached the Champions League semi-final.

Saliba joined Arsenal from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne in 2019, before spending consecutive seasons on loan back in the French top-flight with Nice and Marseille.

He is the latest player to commit his future to Arsenal after Gabriel signed fresh terms in June, while forward Leandro Trossard and academy graduates Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have also signed new deals.

Arsenal are yet to officially announce the agreement, the new deal represents a huge statement of intent, ensuring that the backbone of Arteta’s title-challenging squad remains intact for years to come.
