A self-described witch who was paid to place a curse on conservative commentator Charlie Kirk in the days before he was fatally shot at Utah Valley University has said her magic is “effective,” though she stopped short of claiming responsibility for his death.
The shooting, which occurred during a Turning Point USA event, has sparked widespread condemnation of political violence across the United States. Authorities continue to search for the suspect.
The incident follows a Jezebel article published days before Kirk’s death, titled “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk,” which detailed the author’s purchase of spells from self-described witches on the online marketplace Etsy. The spells ranged from a “MAKE EVERYONE HATE HIM” hex to a “POWERFUL HEX SPELL,” including one by a witch known as Priestess Lilin, who sent a video showing Kirk’s photo being burned.
Priestess Lilin, who co-runs the Etsy shop StrixSisters, told Metro that while she practices both white and black magic, she does not celebrate the loss of life but believes her magic is effective when aligned with collective energy. The shop has received 45 five-star reviews for its services.
