Yobe Police Command Denies Report Of 84 Deaths In Bandit Attack

DAMATURU – The Yobe State Police Command has denied a report published by an online news platform on September 11, 2025, claiming that 84 people were killed in a bandit attack in Mafa Village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area, LGA.

The Command described the report as “false, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary panic among the public”.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim described the incident as untrue.

The Command emphasized that Yobe State continues to enjoy relative peace and security, thanks to the combined efforts of the Military, Police, and other security agencies.

The police disclaimer serves as a warning to the public to disregard the false report and be assured of the state’s security situation. The Command urges the public to rely on verified sources of information to avoid spreading misinformation.
