The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been thrown into confusion following claims and counter claims among the State Chairman of the party, Sen. Emma Anosike and some officials of party as well as prominent National Assembly candidates.
The crisis if not properly managed has the capacity to deny APC, a good run in the 2027 National Assembly and State Assembly elections.
Sen Anosike had over the weekend announced the suspension of the State Legal Adviser, Barr. Richard Egenti, Ifeanyi Osegbo, Chukwudi Kenneth Oji, and Arinze Awogu, Tony Uche Ezekwelu, Bossy Nwoye and Mrs Uju Onyeanusi.
No reason was given for the expulsion of the affected individuals.
Sen Anosike also announced that a reconciliation committee headed by Chief Obi Onwuachu, charged with the responsibility of reconciling all aggrieved members has been set up.
In a sharp reaction to the statement, the APC standard bearer for Ogbaru federal constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon Arinze Awogu said emphatically that the Chairman of the party in Anambra State is on a suicide mission.
He alleged that Sen Anosike has a pact with opposition political parties to run down the APC candidates in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Some party faithful who spoke with our Correspondent on grounds of anonymity,.for fear of getting cut in the cross fire, expressed serious concerns over the turn of events in the camp of APC in Anambra State.
Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, the APC family in Ogbaru federal constituency were thrown into jubilation mood when Hon Arinze Awogu appeared on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list as the flagbearer for the party in the 2027 House of Representatives polls.
