The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards commenced on May 7 with a different format than what the network initially planned for. The annual awards show was supposed to air live from Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger in Los Angeles, but due to the writers strike and the WGA planning to picket outside of the event, MTV opted to go with a pre-taped show instead. Drew Barrymore had also backed out of hosting the event to show her support to the WGA, and celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis, who were planning to present at the show, also chose not to attend. So, as we said, it was a much different show than what viewers had expected. But some of your favorite celebrities, shows and movies still won golden popcorn statues, so take a look at the full list of the winners in bold below!
