August 21, (THEWILL) — Oblique Seville of Jamaica delivered a standout performance at the Diamond League meet in Lausanne, defeating Olympic champion Noah Lyles in the 100m.
Competing in challenging conditions with heavy rain, Seville clocked an impressive 9.87 seconds, a testament to his ability to perform at a high level regardless of the environment.

Lyles, who struggled with a slow start, finished second in 10.02 seconds.
Seville, who won bronze in the 4x100m relay at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, was confident of his chances ahead of the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo, stating his belief in becoming the first Jamaican man to win the 100m at a global championship since Usain Bolt.
