The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it is working with the Ghana Police Service to investigate allegations of extortion involving two soldiers and some civilian accomplices.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place at LongShine Mining Company Limited in Prestea-Obuasi on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
In a statement issued in Accra on Friday and copied to The Ghanaian Times, the Acting Director General of Public Relations, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin (Ghana Navy), said that if the personnel are found culpable, they will face the law just like any other citizen of Ghana.
“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to assure the general public that it will not shield its personnel involved in criminal activities,” the statement concluded.
