Ghana: Col K.S. Appiah takes over as new Director of Operations at NAIMOS

Colonel K.S. Appiah has officially taken over the role of Director of Operations at the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) after a formal and successful handover ceremony held on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

He succeeds Colonel Dominic Buah, who previously held this position.

According to the government, this transition is part of routine strategic rotations designed to bolster operational effectiveness and improve the efficiency of the organisation’s activities.

During the handover ceremony, Colonel Buah formally transferred the responsibilities of the Directorate of Operations to Colonel Appiah, signifying a new chapter in the leadership of the unit.

This change is anticipated to aid NAIMOS in its ongoing initiatives to enhance coordination and operational performance in the battle against galamsey.
