2027: No Vacancy in Aso Rock, North Still Solidly Behind Tinubu – Minister Atah

2027: No Vacancy in Aso Rock, North Still Solidly Behind Tinubu – Minister Atah

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Atah, has dismissed speculations that the northern region has turned its back on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Seyi Olorunsola, Atah described such reports as false, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to create division among Nigerians. He said those spreading the rumours were political actors unhappy with the outcome of the last general elections.

“This claim is not only baseless; it is disrespectful to the genuine sentiments and aspirations of millions of northerners who have benefited from the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the minister stated.

According to him, the North remains united in its support for President Tinubu, adding that there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa in 2027.”

Atah added that the talk about the North rejecting Tinubu is a false story made up to cause division among Nigerians. He said Tinubu’s government has brought many development projects to the North, which shows that the region has not been neglected.

He also mentioned that many Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, and community leaders have already pledged their support for Tinubu’s re-election.

“To the northern people, I say: do not be swayed by the false rhetoric of failed and retired politicians whose only agenda is to reclaim access to the public purse,” Atah warned.

The minister expressed confidence that Tinubu will win again in 2027 because of his ongoing projects and inclusive leadership style that cuts across all regions.
