A man in Pennsylvania was apprehended by police last week following allegations that he bit off a woman’s lips.
According to WTAJ, officers from Ridgeway Borough responded to a call on Saturday, where they encountered 23-year-old Hunter Rooney and the victim on the front porch of an apartment. The woman, suffering from severe bleeding around her mouth and lower face, reportedly informed the police that Rooney had attacked her.
Officers documented that the woman’s lips were severely injured, described as “hanging off her mouth.”
Rooney is said to have yelled at and resisted the officers before being secured in a police vehicle. He later allowed the police to search the premises, admitting the presence of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms.
During the search, authorities discovered a stolen black Glock 19 firearm. Rooney claimed the gun belonged to a roommate, although the individual was not present during the incident.
According to WTAJ, police discovered a bag possibly containing psilocybin, in addition to three digital scales and multiple bongs containing a brown residue.
Rooney, who allegedly confessed to selling or trading the mushrooms for marijuana, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, possession with intent to deliver, intent to possess a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is currently free on $25,000 bond.
