Corruption Blocking God’s Blessings on Nigeria — EFCC Chairman Olukoyede

Corruption Blocking God’s Blessings on Nigeria — EFCC Chairman Olukoyede

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has said corruption continues to obscure Nigeria’s abundant blessings and hinder the country from realising its full potential.

Olukoyede made the statement in Abuja on Wednesday while delivering his Christmas message to Nigerians, urging citizens to unite against corruption as a pathway to national prosperity and strength.

He noted that corruption remains a major impediment to Nigeria’s development, blocking the fulfilment of the abundant life God intends for the nation.

“Let us come together to make our nation greater, stronger and richer. Corruption is a setback, and we must confront it more decisively to allow God’s abundant life to manifest in our country,” the EFCC chairman said.

He called on Nigerians to collectively reject corrupt practices and work in unity to build a nation that is prosperous, resilient and respected among the comity of nations.

Olukoyede also encouraged citizens to embrace the values embodied by Christ—love, light and hope—describing them as vital to Nigeria’s progress.

“Nigeria needs the refreshing hope, love and light that Christ brought to the world,” he said.

The EFCC boss further urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, saying it should inspire renewed confidence in the country’s future and restore belief in Nigeria’s ability to overcome its challenges.

“Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President rekindle fresh hope in us and strengthen our belief that Nigeria will rise again,” Olukoyede added.

He made the remarks against the backdrop of ongoing economic hardship, declining public trust in governance, and sustained efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat corruption and financial crimes nationwide.
