‘Wike won elections, court battles because I sowed seeds for him’

‘Wike won elections, court battles because I sowed seeds for him’

Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has claimed that he played a decisive spiritual role in the political victories of former Rivers State Governor and current Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, including legal battles and contested elections.

Speaking during a church service, which has since gone viral, Ibiyeomie described how Wike, in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), faced nearly insurmountable odds during his governorship campaigns.

“Wike came, lost in High Court, lost in Supreme Court. APC was in power, and we were doing five nights of glory. It was not a money problem, he knew the judgement was against him,” Ibiyeomie said.

The cleric added that Wike personally reached out to him during the crisis, “shaking on the phone.”

“Don’t fear. I will go to God on your behalf. Even if you are meant to lose, God will change it,” Ibiyeomie told the governor.

The pastor said that when Wike faced his second election, people around him doubted he could win.

“Someone said to me, ‘You pray for Wike, we’ll see how you win.’ Ask him any day, the day he sent the note to me, he said, ‘Papa, do I go off?’ He was shaking because everything was against him,” he said.

Ibiyeomie further revealed that he covennanted with God and gave millions in prayer for Wike, without informing the politician, believing it was a spiritual obligation rather than a political favour.

“I told the Lord, for my sake, not because of him. The day they were to change the result and give it to one person called Lawal, something happened,  on the spot, the High Commission stepped into INEC. They couldn’t change the result. That’s how he became Governor the second time,” he claimed.

The pastor also claimed that he was the only cleric Wike invited for a Thanksgiving service after his victories, asserting that his prayers and spiritual seed sowing played a critical role in reversing what seemed like inevitable defeat.
