Barcelona agree €80m Anthony Gordon deal with Newcastle

Anthony Gordon is close to joining FC Barcelona after the Spanish club reached an agreement with Newcastle United F.C. for the winger’s transfer.

The deal is worth €70 million upfront, while add-ons could take the total package beyond €80 million.

Gordon is expected to travel this week for his medical and contract signing as Barcelona move to complete the deal before the start of pre-season.

The England winger joined Newcastle from Everton F.C. and quickly became one of the club’s important attacking players.

Barcelona had also looked at possible moves for Julián Álvarez and João Pedro before turning attention fully to Gordon.

Manager Hansi Flick is expected to add more new players before the new season begins.
