The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced recording significant reductions in road crashes, injuries, and casualties during the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations.

According to the Corps’ operational report, road traffic crashes declined by 25.65 per cent, dropping from 191 cases in 2025 to 142 in 2026.

The number of people involved in crashes fell by 22 per cent, from 1,364 to 1,064, while injuries decreased by 25.35 per cent, from 576 to 430. Deaths also saw a notable decline, representing hundreds of lives protected and families spared the devastating consequences of road traffic crashes.

The Corps attributed the success to proactive traffic management strategies, intensive public enlightenment campaigns, robust enforcement activities, and enhanced emergency response mechanisms deployed before, during, and after the festive period.
