Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded significant operational successes in Kaduna State, including the neutralisation of two suspected bandits, recovery of rustled livestock, and arrest of suspected terrorists.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the troops responded to credible intelligence on cattle rustling activities on June 20, 2026, and engaged fleeing criminals in a gun battle.
The troops neutralised two suspected bandits and recovered weapons, ammunition, and stolen livestock. However, one civilian was killed during the incident due to the actions of the bandits.

In a separate operation on the same day, troops intercepted two suspected bandits during a night patrol. A search of the suspects reportedly uncovered incriminating digital materials linking them to terrorist and bandit activities. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.
On June 21, troops on a fighting patrol also apprehended two suspected bandit scouts after armed criminals retreated into the bush under military pressure. The troops recovered motorcycles and communication devices containing incriminating evidence.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were involved in criminal activities, while further investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, troops also responded to a civil disturbance in Mararraba community following the mob killing of a woman accused of child trafficking. The mob allegedly attempted to attack public infrastructure and block a major highway before security personnel intervened.
The troops restored normalcy, dispersed the crowd, secured critical facilities, and ensured the free movement of commuters.
The Theatre Commander commended the troops for their vigilance, discipline, and operational effectiveness, assuring residents that offensive and intelligence-driven operations would continue to dismantle criminal networks and improve security across the North-West region.
