South Carolina Inmate Faces Charges of Stalking and Threatening a Disabled Individual

In Laurens County, S.C., officials from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division have accused an inmate of stalking and making threats against an individual with disabilities in Abbeville County.

The accused, Larmarcus Alexander Stewart Jr., is a 37-year-old resident of Hodges. He faces charges including stalking, the exploitation of a vulnerable adult, and financial identity fraud.

Arrest records indicate that in 2018, Stewart abandoned a victim during a stroke episode, also taking their vehicle as well as personal identification information. This incident resulted in severe medical emergencies for the victim, leaving them permanently disabled.

Reports confirm Stewart had knowledge of the victim’s medical state.

While incarcerated in the South Carolina Department of Corrections in August 2025, Stewart allegedly exploited the victim’s identity to establish various financial and online accounts, securing credit for his own use.

A second arrest warrant states that on August 17, 2025, Stewart sent multiple threats to the victim via text, saying he had been hired to kill them. Stewart also sent messages describing where the victim lived, as well as other personal information.

Stewart Jr. is still being held at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Turbeville Correctional Facility in Clarendon County.
