CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — An exceptional kicking talent from the class of 2027 has committed to don the orange and blue of the Illini.
Ulysses Morales, hailing from Oak Forest, declared his intention to join the Illini via social media. He is ranked as the seventh-best kicker in his class by Chris Sailer Kicking.
Morales transitioned from soccer to football just last year, and as he enters his final year of high school, he’s determined to demonstrate his capabilities and prepare for collegiate challenges.
“Building trust with my coaches and meeting expectations is key,” Morales stated. “Being committed to Illinois means I have expectations to meet, and I am ready for that challenge. I want to show my coaches, myself, Coach Hurd, and everyone at Illinois that I am prepared for Big Ten football.”
Guiding Morales in his training is Chris Nendick, based in Chicago, who has also coached former Illini kicker David Olano.
