Actor Daniel Etim-Effiong and his wife, Toyosi
Toyosi, media personality and wife of actor, Daniel Etim-Effiong, has continued to build anticipation ahead of her 40th birthday with a countdown on social media.
As part of the celebration buildup, Toyosi took to Instagram during the week to reveal that she was turning on her “feminine energy” in a bid to get her husband to add more gifts to whatever he had already planned for her special day.
The post read in part, “Turning on my full feminine energy this week so he can add to whatever it is he’s gotten for me for May 10. I want to be spoilt on my birthday guys!! After screaming and dancing at the AMVCAs on May 9, I want to wake up on the morning of May 10 (which also happens to be Mother’s Day) to gifts and gifts and gifts. Then in the evening, as I meet up with friends and family, I want more gifts and full blown expressions of love!!
“Also, please start preparing your epistles for my birthday and start digging out pictures of us that you’ll post, not just that you’ll be reposting from me.”
Her post sparked conversations online, with many social media users once again sharing opinions about the couple’s marriage and public display of affection. While some praised their openness with love, others argued that Toyosi often does “too much” online.
Daniel has also repeatedly faced criticism from some fans, who accuse him of portraying romance excessively in movies in a manner they believe does not reflect a married man.
Despite the criticism, the actor has consistently professed his love for his wife. In a previous interview, he stated that although he deeply loves his children, his wife comes first.
On her part, Toyosi has remained unapologetic about publicly expressing love for her husband, regardless of the opinions directed at their marriage. With her milestone birthday only days away, many fans are eager to see how the celebrity couple will mark the occasion.
